Irish Market
After a brief hiatus, The Great Lakes Irish Music Festival is back and better than ever! The event is scheduled for Saturday, July 19, 2008 at Fifth Third Ballpark in Comstock Park, Michigan. The venue is home to the West Michigan Whitecaps, but has also hosted multiple other events including concerts, basketball tournaments and car shows. We think the Festival will be a perfect fit and are excited to begin work on what is sure to be a fabulous event.
This year, Fear n'Ti & Me Irish Productions & the West Michigan Whitecaps are producing the Great Lakes Irish Music Festival. Our festival was the original Irish Music Festival in West Michigan and is known as one of the best Irish Music Festivals in the country. We are excited to continue the tradition of excellence while sharing all the wonders of Ireland with West Michigan and the surrounding areas.
This years festival has continuous performances on stage featuring internationally renowned performers direct from Ireland, throughout the United States and Midwest. From Irish Ballads, great traditional music and song, Celtic Rock, comedy to fantastic Irish Dancers, we have it all. You will find an ongoing traditional session (musicians, bring your instruments), specilized children's area featuring The Grand Rapids Children's Museum, Irish Markets to shop, Irish food and drink, a great Tullamore Dew Irish Pub with sporting events from Ireland on a TV and much, much, more.
The Grand Rapids Children's Museum will be here offering free face painting and tambourine making for all kids from noon - 7:00 p.m.
